Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Dial Down – Breathe and Relax (the "App") handles your information. We built the App to work fully offline by default, and only share data with our backend when you opt in to features that require it.

1. Information Stored Locally

By default, your session history, routines, streaks, body-map annotations, and preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This local data is not transmitted anywhere unless you enable an optional sync or account feature described below.

2. Information We Collect When You Sign In

If you choose to create an account or sign in (via Sign in with Apple, Google, or email and password), the App stores a private profile, along with your session history and routines, on our backend, hosted on Supabase, so your progress can be restored when you sign in again. The profile contains:

While you are signed in, the App also backs up your session history (when each session started and finished, how much you completed, and the points earned) and your routines (their names and the exercises in them), so they can be restored when you sign in on another device.

Your profile, sessions, and routines can only be read or changed by you. Body-map annotations are not uploaded.

Leaderboard (optional): if you choose to join the leaderboard, a generated nickname (never your real name) and your points, streak, and total minutes are visible to other signed-in users. Leaving the leaderboard deletes that entry.

Streak reminders (optional): if you turn on notifications, your device's push notification token and time zone are stored so we can send a reminder before your streak breaks. Turning reminders off, signing out, or deleting your account removes them.

We do not collect more information than is reasonably necessary to provide these features.

Note on Sign in with Apple, Google, and Email/Password: all three sign-in methods are verified through our authentication provider (Supabase), not directly by us. Your email address — whether shared by Apple or Google as part of sign-in, or entered directly when you create an account with an email and password — is received and retained by our authentication provider's own account records so it can verify your identity on future sign-ins. If you sign in with an email and password, that password is also verified and stored by our authentication provider using industry-standard hashing; we never see or store your password ourselves. Your email is held only in our authentication provider's account records; your profile and progress data are stored separately, under your account identifier rather than your email address.

3. Apple Health

If you allow it, the App connects to Apple Health (HealthKit) on your device:

Health data is processed only on your device. It is never uploaded to our backend, never shared with third parties, and never used for advertising, marketing, or data mining. You can turn off the App's access at any time in the Health app or in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.

4. Calendar

If you turn on calendar sync, the App adds each completed session to your default calendar and reads the times of your upcoming events to suggest a free slot for your next session. Calendar data stays on your device and is never uploaded or shared. You can turn off access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars.

5. Face ID

If you turn on App Lock, the App uses Face ID (or your device passcode) to unlock. This check is handled entirely by iOS; the App never receives or stores your biometric data.

6. No Purchases

The App is entirely free and does not offer subscriptions, purchases, or a donation/tip mechanism of any kind. No payment information is collected, processed, or stored by the App or by us.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with third parties except as necessary to operate the App (for example, our backend infrastructure provider, Supabase) or as required by law.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Locally stored data remains on your device until you delete it or the App. You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Account → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account, your profile, session history, routines, leaderboard entry, and reminder registration from our servers, revokes Sign in with Apple if you used it, and erases the App's data on your device. You can also request deletion by contacting us (see below).

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
